Salvation For The Greatest

As of today, the greatest heavyweight fighter of all time is on life support. Upon finding out, I immediately went into prayer. I must admit. At first, I felt a bit strange praying for someone that is a well-respected Muslim. I even questioned if I should. But I soon realized I don’t know what he believes…in his heart. So I started praying for his health. Shortly thereafter, God revealed that I was not only praying for his health; but his soul. So I prayed and asked God to ‘send laborers’ to him; someone that can lead him to repentance and to the Lord. As I kept praying, my mind kicked in and wanted to know how and who, as if it weren’t possible. At which time, the Lord reminded me of the Apostle Paul and Philip the Evangelist.

Acts 9:3-5 says,

As he journeyed he came near Damascus, and suddenly a light shown around him from heaven. Then he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me? And he said, ‘Who are You Lord?’ Then the Lord said, ‘I am Jesus...

No one was there to extend the offer of salvation which means even if he remains unconscious, God can still get through to him in ICU. The other example is Phillip the Evangelist. Acts 8:26-28 says,

Now an angel of the Lord spoke to Philip, saying, ‘Arise and go toward the south along the road which goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.’. This is desert. So he arose and went. And behold, a man of Ethiopia, a eunuch of great authority under Candace the queen of the Ethiopians…was…sitting in his chariot…reading Isaiah the prophet.’

This confirms that God can send anyone, anywhere; which means someone with the Word of salvation can be sent to known Muslim; on perhaps his deathbed.

I tell you. God is so good! Romans 2:4 says, ‘…the goodness of God leads men to repentance.’ This scripture may perhaps come true in Mr. Ali’s life. God was so good as to stop me, on a Friday night, so that I could pray for the world’s greatest heavyweight champion. On June 3rd, 2016 I got to pray for the salvation of Muhammad Ali. Because the thought that he could possibly spend eternity in hell is something I wish on anyone; especially someone who still to this day continues to inspire. Matthew 18:20 says, ‘For where two or three are gathered in My name, I am there in the midst of them.’ Won’t you join me in praying that Mr. Ali gets to know Jesus as his Lord and Savior?
